Macedonia’s Parliament at today’s 87. session reached a decision on dissolving the incumbent legislature with 117 votes in favor and none against.
The Democratic Union for Integration submitted the initiative for the Parliament’s dissolution over the weekend, after their request for a consensual presidential candidate was not met.
The ruling VMRO-DPMNE and opposition SDSM have accepted the initiative, due to result in early parliamentary elections on April 27.
In accordance with the Constitution, the Parliament is dissolved only if such a decision is supported by the majority of deputies.
