About 5 thousand jobs in Kavadarci are created by two large foreign investments, the factories “Dräxlmaier” and “Coficab”. So far, there were nearly three thousand jobs in the first one. This was said last night by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zoran Stavreski at the party debate in Kavadarci.
He said that foreign investments in the country with tens of thousands of jobs are the result of the efforts of the Macedonian government to attract investors from abroad.
- There are such investments in all regions of the country, Stavreski said. He added that the program, at this stage, provides negotiations with another 10-15 investors.
Stavreski reminded that this government has realized numerous projects in all spheres of life in the past few years, and with a sole aim to improve the lives of citizens. He emphasized that Macedonia has left behind another successful year, unlike many other countries that struggled with recession. He indicated to the good set of major economic policies and partnership with the companies, employers and trade unions, and the farmers.
He referred to the measures of the government, as he said, helped the economy to deal with the crisis easier.
- The taxes were not increased only in this country in the past few years, and remain the lowest in Europe, Stavreski said.
He reminded of the projected investments financed from the state budget for this year. 140 million is intended for the Macedonian farmers, adding that the strong support in agriculture continues.
- This shows that it is a government that will never leave farmers and money will not be saved on farmers. Money will be saved on other places, where it can be and should be, but not in agriculture, Stavreski noted.
Speaking about what is being done in education, Stavreski announced that the academic 2014/2015 school books used from first to fifth grade will be correct and aligned with the ones used in the UK, as a country with the most advanced educational processes.
He said that cooperation with the local government in Kavadarci is great and that priority issues from the local economic development are being resolved, such as the problem of water supply in the city. A new kindergarten will be built in Kavadarci, for which EUR 420 thousand have already been provided.
Several ministers addressed at the forum. The Minister of Health Nikola Todorov said that healthcare is one of the areas that the government has put special focus on.
- It is a vital segment which is important for the quality of life in a country and was unduly neglected before this government. We inherited ruined hospitals and old equipment, lack of medicines and medical devices, system breakdown. That is why we realized many projects, Todorov highlighted.
He noted that 1,227 settlements have no doctor, and they previously had one, so it was decided to implement a project that will employ hundreds of medical teams which will be deployed in those areas.
The Minister of Internal Affairs Gordana Jankulovska said that from 2006 onwards the fight against corruption and crime is ongoing. She also referred to the deterrent effect of the police.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Zoran Konjanovski reminded of measures for the promotion of agriculture and the positive effects. He recalled that the farmers support has increased from EUR 20 to 140 million from 2006 onwards.
Kavadarci Mayor Alexandar Panov thanked the Prime Minister and the Government for solving the water problem in Kavadarci. He spoke about all projects that the municipality had and will have with the support of the government.
