According to the National Programme for railway infrastructure from 2014 to 2016, € 323,352,352 are provided for the implementation of projects, 49 % of which will be intended for the construction and development of investment – technical documentation for Corridor 8, while Corridor 10 and 10d will be realized with assets amounting to 51 %, Vecer writes.
Investments in the railway sector are planned in the next three years in Corridor 10, branch of the Corridor 10d, and the Corridor 8, which are the only transverse of Macedonia to other countries in Europe. There will be investments in the investment and technical documentation, repair and reconstruction of individual sections of Corridor 10 and the branch “d” of Corridor 10 , the construction of the eastern part of Corridor 8 in section to Republic of Bulgaria, as well as current maintenance of the railway network, in order to maintain the current level of security and safety in railway transport of passengers and goods and to allow faster traffic at “bottlenecks” that occur during the movement of trains.
This is provided within the National Programme for Railway Infrastructure 2014 to 2016, worth MKD19,886,169,633 or EUR 323,352,352, or 49 % will be intended for construction and development of investment – technical documentation for Corridor 8, while 51 % will be intended for Corridor 10 and 10d.
- Funding for the implementation of the National Programme will be provided by loans (51 %), grants from the IPA or NJBIF (31 %), Budget of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (17 %), and the PE Macedonian Railways – infrastructure (1 %)- the draft National infrastructure program 2014-2016 states, which entered the parliamentary procedure.
