Heads of Ministry of Defense today held meeting with representatives of the Union to discuss the new legal solution that solves the status of professional soldiers upon completion of the work in the Army.
General Secretary of the Union of defense and security, Aco Spasovski, supported and welcomed the government’s decision for their employment after the age of 45.
- We welcome this decision, as well as the decision by the end of the month to create legal solution for about 3,700 professional soldiers. This decision increases our motivation to over 100 % as all professional soldiers will know now that their status is resolved, said Spasovski.
Positive wording for the Government proposed law expressed the Independent Union of Defense, which is the second largest.
- This legal decision which will provide further employment in the civil service for the professional soldiers above age of 45, has positive effect, primarily over the professionalism of the soldiers in the process of completing the required tasks, said the President of the Independent Trade Union, Vancho Isaiev.
Deputy Minister of Defense, Emil Dimitirev emphasized that this measure adopts two important dimensions of professional soldiers.
- It is common human or existential dimension for professional soldiers, which after their service in the Army can obtain rights for retirement. The second dimension is professional, which is the best incentive for quality performance of the tasks of the professional soldiers at the Macedonian Army, said Dimitirev.
With the new legal solution, professional soldiers at the age of 45 year will be reassigned to work in the civil service, in accordance with their qualifications and abilities.
They will get contract for state job in another state body and will become full-time employees, will continue to receive their salaries until they acquire the conditions for retirement.
