Domestic investors mainly from Skopje and southern regions are mostly interested in the implementation of Brownfield investment. There is big interest in investment in Gevgelija and Strumica, MIA writes.
- The interest is growing, but considering that the registry of objects is still new and not known to the public, the interest is still small, as to requests of information about existing facilities in the registry, also for entries of new facilities in the registry, according to Agency to attract foreign investment and export promotion for a statement to MIA.
The list includes more than 400 buildings, with entire complex or parts of companies of former production facilities, such as factories, halls, warehouses, office buildings and tourist accommodation facilities like hotels and resorts. Among agricultural facilities there are orangeries, parts of combines, production areas etc. These facilities are built on over 1,700,000 square meters, and considering yards, agricultural areas, construction land etc. the total area is over 4,500,000 square meters.
Among the facilities listed are the Battery Factory Probishtip, Jaka Tabak Radovish, Frotirka Delcevo, Makedonka Stip, Factory Macedonia Negotino, Hemteks, Zastava Ohrid, Ezerka Ohrid, ADG Mavrovo, Porcelanka Veles, Kiro Kucuk Veles, Otex, EMO, Metalka Kicevo, Karposh Kriva Palanka, hotel Macedonia Berovo, Star Dojran Resort, hotel Flamengo Ohrid, MZT Pumps Berovo, Ogražden, cable factory Negotino, Lesnina, Bujoto etc.
The database cooperates with all state institutions, also with the chambers of commerce, commercial banks, the Chamber of executors and Chamber of trustees.
The database is placed on the Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion website, so can potential stakeholders to learn about it and gain an initial impression of the capabilities and data. The data is also sent to the diplomatic and consular representative offices and economic promoters, to promote capacity to foreign investors.
