Since SDSM leader and mayor of Strumica Zoran Zaev is silent after publication of the information that an organization established by him personally is draining money from the municipal budget, our editors office came up documents that show that the Zaev’s organization received about 20 million municipal money in the past several years.
After the scandalous tenders in Strumica, where nepotism is at the highest level in the country, at the sight is new scandal of the SDSM leader and mayor of Strumica Zoran Zaev. Awarding tenders to his brother, father, uncle and almost all of the closest family seems is not scandalous enough compared to the allocation money to the organization, personally established by Zaev.
It is the association “Youth Council Strumica,” which was established in March 2008. From that year onwards, according to the planned budget of Strumica Municipality can be seen that Youth Council and Children’s Parliament (the authority of the Youth Council) each year received four million MKD.
From the documents, we can see that in 2010, the Municipality of Strumica budget should allocate 4 million MKDas to the Children’s Parliament – Youth Council as part of the activities of Municipality of Strumica for local economic and tourism development.
4 million are provided from the budget of the municipality of Strumica in 2011 to the Children’s Parliament / Council of Youth D1 program for support of the local economic development.
In 2012, the funds allocated for the work of the Youth Council Strumica named as transfer to Youth Council are placed in a group with 13 other projects entering the G1 program for support of the local and economic development and is planned to allocate 11.47 million MKD from the budget of the Municipality of Strumica.
In 2013 transfer for Children ‘s Parliament is a group of 9 other projects entering the G1 program for support of the local economic development and are planned 7.63 million MKD from the budget of the Municipality of Strumica.
If we consider these documents, then this organization in its nearly seven years of existence, should have received more than 20 million from the municipal budget.
Zoran Zaev, according to our sources, convinced Strumica youth that it is a non-profit organization and that the Mayor and Strumica Municipality are supporters. Thesis fell into the water at the local elections in 2013 when Peter Bozhinov who is “pro forma” president of the Youth Council, became councilor in Strumica Municipality from the Zaev’s party.
At the Youth Council Strumica participate other party officials from SDSM including signatories Tony Milushev (current Chairman of the Department of Local Economic Development (LED) in Strumica, Zoran Uzunov (current Education Advisor in the Office of Zaev) who are also signatories to the decision for establishing the Youth Council.
