560 socially vulnerable families got shelter and apartments are being built for this category of citizens, state commercial housing are sold cheaply, the project “Buy a House, Buy a Flat” provided homes to about 250 families, the procedure for buying social housing is accelerated and facilitated, and the legalization of illegal constructions and backyards privatization for one euro per square meters provided easier acquirement of documents for hundred thousand citizens, “Vecer” analyzes.
Nearly 560 socially disadvantaged families in the past few years got shelter through the government housing projects for socially vulnerable groups. From 2011 until the end of last year in Bitola, Stip and Berovo, construction of 220 residential units intended for persons at social risk and other vulnerable groups is completed.
The care for socially disadvantaged people continues, and construction of a new housing project throughout the state has started last year. 75 apartments are being built in Prilep, 25 in Demir Hisar and 18 apartments in Resen that will be ready for move-in this and the next year. Also projects are made for another 312 apartments in Skopje, 43 in Kocani, 70 Gostivar, 10 in Makedonski Brod, 34 in Pehčevo, 39 in Vinica, 54 in Sveti Nikole, 48 in Probishtip, 41 in Strumica and 62 in Negotino. The government has planned to design another 121 apartments in Skopje, 68 in Kumanovo, 55 in Tetovo, 46 in Debar and 29 in Veles.
In addition, 70 flats for young couples, disabled persons, single parents, singles and other people without housing are already built in Bitola. The preparation of project documentation for these categories of citizens for construction of 35 apartments in Skopje, 20 in Kocani, 34 in Tetovo and 19 in Kavadarci will start this year, as an obligation of the Action Plan for the construction of housing for persons without housing, passed by the government last year.
Commercial flats and houses, built by the state, is a chance for the more situated citizens to get cheaper houses. 152 apartments are completed so far in the municipality of Skopje Aerodrom, 325 flats are almost finished in this municipality and internal technical review is ongoing, also 50 apartments in the Centar are at the final stage.
Through the auction of state land to new jobs
State land by mid-2011 is being sold at public auction. In the period from August 2011 to February this year, as a result of transparent procedures and benefits offered by the government through the Ministry of Transport and Communications, total of 318 building plots are alienated by public auction, and local governments sold a total of 1541 plots.
Huge investments in industries associated with construction and many jobs are provided through the sale of state land for the construction of capital facilities. Such as the new distribution center in Resen, Dräxlmaier in Kavadarci, Markart in Veles, Sun City in Sopiste municipality, a location to build a commercial- office building and underground thoroughfare in the downtown area of Skopje and others.
The municipalities receive 80 % of the funds from the sale of state plots, and 20 % go to the state budget, and 45 municipalities have so far gained the right to dispose with construction land.
