Macedonian Prime Minister, Nikola Gruevski, today at the invitation of the NATO Liaison Office, met with Colonel Alexander Alexandrov, Head of Office.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed of the activities and work of the NATO Liaison Office, its priorities and engagement in the field of defense and the improvement of standards in the area which is part of its mission.
Colonel Alexandrov noted that the NATO Liaison Office of is involved in the processes and activities of the state in the field of defense, assessing readiness and level of professionalism of the armed forces of the Republic of Macedonia positively.
Mutual satisfaction was expressed at the meeting, about the cooperation between the Liaison Office and the Government, as well as with other relevant authorities and institutions working in the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of Macedonia.
Furthermore, the commitment of our country was emphasized to preserve peace and stability, which is an important segment for the region development, and the high degree of willingness that gives the perspective of full membership in Euro-Atlantic integration.
As a positive example of practical cooperation with NATO, the interlocutors pointed the early implementation of the third phase of the project to rebuild the bridges in the country, worth EUR 8.6 million. Both sides expressed their willingness to continue such cooperation in the future.
