Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Health Minister Nikola Todorov had a meeting with acclaimed Italian cardiac surgeons Roberto Cini and Antonio Marulo.
- As part of the Government’s commitment to collaboration with top medical centers and medical experts in the world, the government has made concrete cooperation and engagement with these cardiac surgeons in the country. The engagement of Dr. Cini and Dr. Marulo will be realized through their practice in the project of State cardiac surgery, or their direct participation in medical activities in this project, the government’s press service informed.
Both doctors will educate the Macedonian State cardiac doctors. They will transfer their experience, skills, working methods and knowledge in the field of cardiac surgery to the doctors of Macedonia.
- The cooperation is organized within the Government project for the establishment of the State cardio surgery. The Prime Minister noted at the meeting that promoting the capacity and development of staff through understanding and application of new methods in health care is Government’s significant priority and commitment. It was pointed out that the establishment of the State cardiac surgery is a challenge that exists for 40 years and this is a concrete step forward in achieving a higher level of work and concrete realization of this project which is of interest to the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, according to a statement from the government.
Italian doctors have expressed willingness to transfer their knowledge and implement new working methods which are applied in the top cardiac centers, and their belief in the capacity and readiness of the Macedonian doctors and their desire for progress.
Antonio Marulo is a doctor and professor at the University Hospital La Sapienza in Italy, which is one of the most prestigious hospitals in Italy, and Roberto Cini a renowned cardiac surgeon with experience in many top medical centers in the world.
