Procedures and the work of the Convention of VMRO – DPMNE for election of candidate for President of the Republic of Macedonia were presented today by Ilija Dimovski, member of the Executive Committee of the VMRO- DPMNE and Director of the Center for Communications.

Convention will be held on March 1, 2014.
Meetings of the Executive and Central Committee of VMRO – DPMNE were held yesterday and several draft acts and decisions were adopted, associated with the Convention of the VMRO – DPMNE for candidate election for President of the Republic of Macedonia.
1300 delegates will participate in the Convention.
Delegates to the Convention are:
- Members of the Executive Committee of VMRO – DPMNE
- Members of the Central Committee of VMRO – DPMNE
- Members of the Executive Committee of the UMS (union of young forces) VMRO – DPMNE
- Members of the Executive Committee of UZ (union of women) VMRO- DPMNE
- Members of the Presidency of the National Council of Veterans of VMRO – DPMNE
- Organizational secretaries and undersecretaries of VMRO – DPMNE
- Delegates elected by the Municipal Committee of VMRO – DPMNE
- Presidents of the Central Committees of the VMRO – DPMNE
- Delegates elected by the Executive Committee of VMRO – DPMNE
- Delegates elected by the Executive Committee of UMS VMRO- DPMNE and Executive Committee of UZ VMRO – DPMNE
- Elected and appointed officials of VMRO – DPMNE
- Significant figures and founders of VMRO – DPMNE.
The final list of delegates to the Convention of VMRO – DPMNE for election of candidate for President of the Republic of Macedonia will be posted on the website of the party.
Under the proposed rules of the Convention, the candidate for President of the Republic of Macedonia will be elected by direct and secret ballot, attended by all delegates to the Convention. Each candidate shall have the right for his/hers own representatives in the voting process. Each candidate will be entitled to the same right of self- representation and representation of their programs before convention delegates.
VMRO – DPMNE during the next day will announce the public call for submission of candidacy to the Convention of VMRO – DPMNE for election of candidate for President of the Republic of Macedonia on its website. The criteria have been publicly announced. The candidates must meet the constitutional requirements to execute the office of President of the Republic of Macedonia, to be members of VMRO – DPMNE or supporters of the policies of the party and found themselves in positions of VMRO – DPMNE for the state and national issues.
This mode of selection of candidates for President of the Republic of Macedonia, despite being a regular practice of our party since its inception, is highly democratic, transparent and open process that poses serious and good standards in politics in the country.
