10 years ago the general conclusion was that the Macedonian sports and Macedonian sports clubs lack of sports facilities and the right conditions for training and development , but today things have seriously changed.
This was stated by the Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, who attended today the promotion of the completed project to improve the infrastructure and modernization of the football field ground “Macedonian Lions”, in the municipality of Gjorce Petrov.
- A football field is built almost in every city. Two playgrounds are built here in Gjorce Petrov. The project for construction of 145 sports facilities has included all schools which have the conditions for construction and don’t have such facilities. As part of this project, 34 school sports facilities are built so far, and many more are under construction or will soon begin with construction, Gruevski said.
With the project for construction of 100 tennis courts, Gruevski recalled, tennis courts were built and are still being built in the country, as well as the project for construction of 100 multi-purpose sports fields.
- Together with the sports fields that are being built by municipalities and sports federations, it can be concluded that Macedonia has made great step forward in the field of sports infrastructure. Many places in the state that never had a real sports field and facilities for sports and recreation, now have sports halls, playgrounds, the right conditions for sports, and thus are able to form new generations of sports. One of these facilities is this modern football field. I believe Gjorce Petrov, the same as always, will continue to bring new football talents and that this area will be home to many football stars, Gruevski added.
