The Government set aside 90 million MKD for supporting fisheries and aquaculture

The Republic of Macedonia in the Program for Fisheries and Aquaculture 2014 provided 21.6 million MKD, while for supporting for aquaculture will be allocated 64 million MKD.

Government spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev informed that for the implementation of the government program adopted at the last session, were allocated 90 million MKD or 1.5 million euro.

These subsidies, as noted the spokesperson, will mean the opening of new jobs in the field of fisheries and aquaculture in the country.

- With these significant funds in scale and qualification will be implemented measures and activities that will not only contribute to economic development in the lake regions or regions around waterways, but they will significantly contribute to the improvement of environmental conditions, said Gjorgjiev.

As he stressed, it is important year for stocking the lake and will be allocated 13 million MKD, twice then the funds that were used for the same purpose in 2013.

- This without doubts lead to positive effects that are reflected in the ecology and economy, because as a result of past activities for stocking the lake and this new larger sum, will contribute to raising the volume of fishery of Ohrid trout. According to basis for fishing scientific institutions developed, the last year allowed fishing of 3.3.200 kg for 2014 will increase and will be 16.5 thousand kg, said the government spokesman.

Through this program are provided assets of 1.5 million MKD for supporting the construction of specific mandri in Dojran Lake, and the other six million will be used for stocking Prespa and Dorjan Lake.

- Part of these funds will be allocated for the construction of new and reconstruction of old posts, which are used in the process of stocking lakes, pointed Gjorgjiev.

Within this program for supporting aquaculture are allocated 64 million MKD out of which 19.5 million for the purchase of equipment for processing of fish, 30 million for direct payments for fish stocking material in the ponds, which are owned by private entities, i.e. 600 MKD per unit will be supported all kinds of fish that are provided within the this project frames. As noted the government spokesperson, will be supported up to 700 numbers of the type of river and Ohrid trout, 300 numbers of the type common carp and up 50 numbers of other species of fish that are in the program.

With 20 MKD per kilogram will subsidize the type of trout fish, and 10 MKD all other fish species that are included in the program for aquaculture.
